I began practicing yoga in my twenties and have maintained a personal practice for more than 30 years. Before becoming a yoga teacher, I also spent nearly three decades working in the technology sector, collaborating with people across a wide range of roles and responsibilities. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for how stress shows up differently across bodies and nervous systems, particularly in demanding professional and caregiving contexts.
This perspective shapes how I teach. I bring respect for busy lives, competing demands, and varied capacities, and I aim to offer practices that feel practical, supportive, and sustainable.
My interest in trauma-informed yoga is informed by both professional training and personal experience within my family. It has shaped my sensitivity to anxiety, overwhelm, and the importance of meeting people where they are—without requiring explanation or disclosure. I currently serve as a Northern California Ambassador for Veterans Yoga Project, supporting trauma-informed yoga offerings for veterans, service members, and their families.
Certifications and trainings include:
My teaching is informed by ongoing study in anatomy, breath-centered practices, and trauma-informed approaches, as well as continued mentorship with teachers whose work emphasizes accessibility and sustainability. I have been particularly influenced by Stephanie Snyder, Martin Scott, Melylah Botte Smith, Anna Hughes, Tias Little, and Judith Lasater.
